Asylum Seekers in Havering - Update

Last week, your local Conservative Councillors for Emerson Park, became aware that the Home Office was using Palms Hotel on the A127 as accommodation for asylum seekers.

Dispersal Zone for Upminster Park

Upminster Police have notified that from today (16th June), Upminster Park will be a designated dispersal zone.

A new Mayor and Deputy Mayor for Havering

At the Annual Council meeting on the 10th June, Havering Councillors elected a new Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Havering. 

Councillor John Mylod from St Andrew's Ward was elected Mayor for 2020/21 having served the previous year as Deputy Mayor of Havering. 

Missed Bin Collections

Yesterday, Havering's waste collection contractor Serco experienced four-vehicle breakdowns, an unprecedented situation which caused significant interruption to the service.

Weekly Bin Collection

Due to Monday (25th) being a Bank Holiday, your bin collection will be one day later this week. If your normal collection day is Wednesday, it will now be Thursday.

Your collection day returns to normal from Monday, 1st June 2020. 

Re-opening of Havering Council Tennis Courts & Fishing Lakes

Havering Council has announced that with the easing of restrictions by the Government, they have opened the council-run tennis courts and fishing lakes in Havering. 

Please remember to follow the social distancing rules that the Government have set out.

Gerpins Lane reuse centre to re-open

The Gerpins Lane reuse and recycling centre will re-open on Monday, 11th May 2020. 

The site, which is managed by ELWA (East London Waste Authority), will be available for residents to visit during the usual opening hours of 7.30am to 5.45pm Monday to Sunday.
