The Hornchurch and Upminster Conservative Association was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of John Mylod.
John was a titan of Havering politics serving for 30 years as a councillor. His kind, gentle persona enabled him to reach across the political spectrum. He was first elected in St Andrews Ward for the Hornchurch Residents Association in 1994 before joining the Conservative Party. John served as the Mayor of Havering 3 times and gained the respect of his local community.
In December, as a token of his community work and commitment to Havering, John was granted Freedom of the Borough.
Hornchurch and Upminster Conservative Association Chairman, Adam Baker pays tribute to John saying "John was a rare find in local politics. His genuine warmth and kindness stands testament to his passion for the community he served. I will miss listening to his advice and to get his calm resilience to bounce back in difficult times."
Our thoughts and prayers are with John's family at this difficult time.
