Investment at Queen's Theatre

The Queen’s Theatre in Hornchurch is one of five London theatres to be awarded £5,000 towards a number of different projects that address viability and accessibility and improve the theatre-going experience.

Keeping Havering Safe

Last week, Havering's budget plan was published including a significant investment in CCTV across Havering. The proposals include an extra £250,000 to improve community safety through better CCTV.

Work begins on the new Hornchurch Sports Centre

Work has begun on the brand new Hornchurch Sports Centre.

Last week, the start of construction on the new centre in Harrow Lodge Park, saw a silver spade groundbreaking event take place on-site to mark the first milestone of the development.

Glass Recycling

The way glass is recycled in Havering has now changed. Your local Conservative Council renegotiated their contract with ELWA (East London Waste Authority) to ensure that residents no longer need to separate the different colours by dropping them into specific bins.

Road Resurfacing

Conservative Councillors promised £30 million to road repairs over the next four years. So far, we have seen a number of roads in our Constituency benefit from this fund, including North Street, Hornchurch, Great Nelmes Chase, Emerson Park and Station Road, Upminster.

Keeping Havering Clean

This week, Havering's budget plan was published including major improvements in street cleaning. The proposals include an extra £400,000 for street cleaning which will see the frequency in residential streets increased from once every three weeks to fortnightly.

I recently had a very informative meeting with Havering Association for People with Disabilities, a voluntary organisation doing fantastic work for people living in Havering. They allowed me to take part in one of their classes, which helps people to improve their cognitive skills.
