This year our annual dinner will be held at The Cranleigh Restaurant, Station Lane, Hornchurch instead of at the Upminster Golf Club. In addition to our hostess, Dame Angela, we will have former Hornchurch MP and now Minister for Security and Immigration, James Brokenshire as our main speaker. As both of his portfolios are at the top of the news right now we anticipate a strong demand for tickets so suggest you get your bookings in early.The food will be to The Cranleigh's usual high standard and there will be a cash bar on the night. The charge for the evening will be £45.
Enjoy a buffet meal on a 60s theme at Langtons Hall at the end of September. The £25 charge will cover the three course meal and a welcome cocktail. 60s music will take everyone back to their youth (or beyond). There will be live and recorded music with an English theme and a traditional English meal. Everyone is invited to the next of our occasional quiz nights with popular question-mistress Ruth. This will be held as usual at the Hornchurch Conservative Club, North Street, Romford, RM11 1AU. Please get there at 19.30 for 20.00 start. Tickets cost £8 per head including supper of fish and chips, chicken and chips, or vegetarian burger and chips . There will be a cash bar open all evening. Make up your own table of 6 or come on your own and join other quizzers to create a new team to compete for the Lansley Cup.
Our Annual General Meeting will be held at the Hornchurch Library, North Street, Hornchurch and will be followed, as usual by light refreshments.We will talk about our plans for the local and European elections in May and Dame Angela will be with us and will update us on what is happening in Westminster.Members will be formally invited and sent a copy of the agenda in the usual way. The meeting is not open to non-members unless they have been personally invited by and accompany a member.
Our first event of 2014 is a 5-course gourmet dinner at the Quarles Campus of the Havering College.The meal will be prepared and served by students of the college on the theme of 'The British Isles' and will be followed by coffee and petit fours, all included in the price of £25.00 per head. There will be a vegetarian option for all courses.As the College has restricted space places are limited so act without delay if you want to book. There is limited car parking at the venue but free parking is available on the streets close by.

Iain Duncan Smith, Secretary of State for Work and Pensions.Booking for this event has now opened and it is sure to sell out quickly so please don't delay if you want to come. The cost is £40.00 per ticket and includes a three course meal plus coffee and mints. There is a cash bar from which you can order any drinks including wine to accompany your meal.
